Here's how the features work for me. I'm fostering a rabbit that had to have a hind leg amputated. I trimmed the matting to the size of the potting tray I'm using for a litter box. I line the box with CareFresh recycled newspaper litter and put the matting on top. The matting offers plenty of traction in the litter box so he doesn't slip, like he did with the litter alone.
