I was so pleased with them, compliments galore! I originally wanted to use them for special occasions, in order to preserve the gold but ended up using them for our everyday use. I initially would not put them in the dishwasher, but caved and started putting them in the dishwasher and a little over a year later they look great! It is a complete set and very well priced. I needed service for 8 and a fairly inexpensive price tag. This fit the bill. It seems sturdy enough, but if I look at it closely, the "gold plating" is maybe not the best, it can be sloppy and outside the lines on some of the pieces. I didn't put it in the dishwasher. I hand washed it in an attempt to keep it looking as nice as it can for as long as it can. Overall, if you're purchasing this item to use two times a year like I am, it's fine.
