## Description

From the Manufacturer The House of Troy N604-AB Newport Collection Portable Floor Lamp shows that hand-craftsmanship is a time honored tradition, as alive today as the land itself. In this tradition, House of Troy carefully crafts each light for you by hand, to the highest quality standards. This floor lamp will create a stunning presence in any room and works well with many styles of decor. Showcasing the classic lines of this lamp and cut from the highest quality solid brass, the N604-AB has a warm antique brass finish which is an oxidized finish, darkened, then partially rubbed away, leaving dark highlights throughout. This House of Troy light fixture has an adjustable swing arm, and a 3-way socket allowing for ample illumination while sitting in your reading chair or working at your desk. The N604-AB uses one medium base 150W (maximum) incandescent bulb controlled by a switch on the socket. The off-white soft back shade measures 10-1/2-Inch by 18-Inch by 10-Inch, height of the lamp is 61-Inch, and the base measures 12-Inch, with a factory formed opening for the polarized plug and 10-foot brown cord. The metal components of House of Troy products should be cleaned with warm water and a soft cloth; using soaps or glass cleaners may damage the metal finish. This fixture is sold one per package and is UL listed in the USA and Canada. Tucked into the northern Vermont hills, House of Troy has been producing classic lighting since the mid 1940s. Though off the beaten path and far from the spotlights of the big cities, the House of Troy reputation burns brightly. For nearly sixty years, the company has been offering lighting known for its craftsmanship and quality.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great!
*by L***4 on May 23, 2012*

Very high quality light fixture. Easy to put together. Exceeded our expectations, which were high. There is nothing cheap about this lamp. Could easily be a heirloom furniture item.

### ⭐ Rip off! China made, not brass, no shade attachment 604 useless.
*by G***. on June 14, 2014*

Entire lamp made in China per large print on 604's box. Not made in USA at all. Poor quality fake brass finish. But worst is lack of shade attachment for a harp or tube and completely useless. Shade was totally squashed due to lack of any packing material. Really! Do not be fooled by unrealistic photo. It does not have a golden brass finish, but a very dark one. I would not recommend this for any purpose

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Impressive, but less than perfect
*by J***Y on December 19, 2012*

In appearance, this floor lamp is tall, visually impressive, and, in its way, rather magnificent. The brass--or brass plating--has a subdued glow and the shade--whose color I would call a light tan--is attractive. Functionally, the base is wide and heavy, so the lamp is stable. The swing arm works smoothly and the three-way light is effective. Assembly is pretty simple. But the quality of the lamp isn't so careful as the picture suggests and as I expected for the price. Specifically, on my sample, one of the spindles that ornaments the top of the column is flattened on two sides, when it should be round. I assume this is due to a lapse in craftsmanship on the part of the Chinese factory that made the lamp. Or could it be intentional--a little "distressing" to mimic the look of "antique" brass? Either way, I don't like this "feature" and was tempted to return the lamp for exchange because of it. However, in the end I decided to keep it. After all, my sample could be better than what would be sent in its place.Notwithstanding any flaws, overall the lamp looks very good, even though less refined than in the picture.Update 2018. After six years of daily use, this lamp still looks like new. No problems of any kind have arisen with it.
