They're slightly larger than the ones I used previously, but they do a GREAT job of preventing rapid wearing-down of the shoes' heels. I have read complaints that the adhesive comes off with the paper backing - you need to very carefully note where the adhesive backing ends & pull only on the paper backing, otherwise you will, indeed, pull off the adhesive backing. For the complaint about the adhesive not working - you need to clean the heel surface first (a quick pass with sandpaper or a scouring pad used to clean pots & dishes will work), dry it, then apply the adhesive-backed heel plate.
