I don't know when the "vortex" feature kicks in but this thing barely blows air, and in no way "circulates" air throughout the room. A very mild heat at the most. Took it out of the box and plugged it in. Turn it on and the heater goes on but not the fan. Turned it off and on again, still no fan on any settings. I got pist and unplugged it. Then i got a small stick and turned the fan manually. Then i plugged it back in and turned it on and it worked. After a few minutes of that new heater smell, it worked fine. Fan has a nice speed, but it could be a little better. also, i would not leave this on unattended. UPDATE. Finding this product isn't as bad as i thought. It has an auto tip over shut off switch. Also heats up my small kitchen well on low.
