I didn't try to force it any farther even though it says there is 25 feet of line in it. I rewinds well at 22 feet. It snaps a real sharp thin line. I assumed it was for in shop use due to the crisp line. If you used it for snapping a floor layout in construction, I don't think it would work well. It would be too thin, too short and hard to see. The concept seemed cool , but the ink dries to fast to snap to ground, line is so thin I can hardly grab onto it.
