I feel like I'm in a fishbowl in my yard, all the neighbors can look down at me from their houses and I can't really relax. Green giant is known for fast growth so I bought 2 gallon size from a big orange hardware store. Those were clearly over watered and suffering, the tips were brown and sad looking. I paid $25 a piece for those poor suffering trees. I was skeptical about buying plants online, especially from a large company like desertcart... What, do they store live plants in their warehouse or something? Ha, okay. Anyways, I was looking for more green giant because 2 wouldn't cut it and I found these. $100 for 25 specimens is a lot better than $50 for 2. I saw a few reviews and decided to give it a shot. The plants arrived quickly and very well packaged, all of them in individual pots, 5 to a bag, all with bright green new growth and HUGE root balls coming out of the planters. One of them had roots growing out the bottom of the pot and back into the top of the same pot. These are obviously healthy happy and skillfully propagated trees and I can't wait to finally have some privacy (in 3-5 years, haha). Thank you! Condition of plants: 5/5 - they came very green and alive. I was pleasantly surprised that each plant had a decent root structure. Each plant was as advertised. Packaging: 6/5 - absolutely phenomenal. I ordered 50 total plants. Each came in a 2”x2”x4” container filled with decent dirt and completely saran wrapped. The cardboard box they where shipped in was sturdy and had air holes to allow the plants to breath. Each plant was very secured in the container with bamboo supports. It could have been tossed around and would likely have been completely fine. (At the time of writing I have had the plants for about 1 week) I took the plants immediately out of the shipping box and kept in full sun and watered daily. While planting I placed a little bit of evergreen fertilizer in each hole and a ring of mulch to help retain moisture in the soil. I’ve been watering daily and all the plants are alive and healthy and I believe they’ve all already started to grow. They do not root very far or deep. The sooner you can get these in the ground, the better. Wet them well and give them some protection from the winter like leaves or some kind of cover. The roots will set over the winter. If the ground is frozen by the time you get them, don't put them in. Put them in a protected spot and cover them well. Start them in the spring. My plants are 8-9 yrs now and 15-20ft.
