It compactly and securely stores a week’s worth of pills. The clamshell design results in the day compartments’ lids one side to press against the lids on the other side, which allows for all of the lids to be secured once the clamshell is closed. The “middle” compartment of the clamshell is a single, large compartment, which is useful for either backup pills or larger pills.If you have ever bought something plastic and then had it be the “cheap” plastic and then have it break after regular usage because it was cheap plastic; you don’t have to worry about that with this. I don’t really know how to describe it aside from “nice” plastic. It just feels high quality. The case itself feels strong. the hinges for the lids are easy enough to open all the way but the feeling of the folding action in satisfying - it feels like I’m folding something thick that will hold up over time, as opposed to something thin that might break and I have to be careful with. The locks for the lids are easy to open, but also lock in a satisfying way - it doesn’t feel like the lock will fail over time to regular usage. It just has that Je ne sais quoi.Highly recommend.If you need an AM/PM solution, buy two in different color and have one be morning and one be night. Seriously. I bought a case from a dollar store that’s a week long and has AM/PM. The cheapness of the plastic frustrates me ever time I use it. Life is too short. Be happy. I just wanted to update, one year later, that the latch on the box broke after one year's use (I use it daily). I'm still buying another one.----------------------------For years I've gone through pill holders in my purse and every single one of them breaks or spills and it drives me crazy. This pill holder is large, about the size of a sandwich cut in halve and stacked on top of itself, but I have a large enough purse and am happy to sacrifice size for quality. Plus the size allows it 3 layers of pill holding compartments of all sizes! I love it because I can keep all my pills separate instead of mixing a few types together like I used to have to do (I carry things like pain killers, Musinex, Pepto tablets, etc. because I like to be prepared). It snaps together very tightly without difficulty and hasn't spilled yet. It seems to be high quality and looks like it will last a long time, though I'll update this review in a year or so to let you know for sure. Thus far I am thrilled with this pill holder, more-so than I've been with any other I've tried.
