Review: Perfect! - You all probably know that I am a mega-fan of the Hush, Hush series. From the moment I began it, I just fell in love with it. So to say I had high expectations going into Finale is putting it lightly, I would say my expectations were higher than they have ever been for a book (possibly with the exception of Harry Potter). With my expectations this high, I was worried that Finale would not live up to them, but honestly Finale surpassed every single incredibly high expectation I had. The book is addictive and surprised me at every turn. There were twists and turns left and right, and where Becca Fitzpatrick had the opportunity to go with the typical YA plot points, she didn't and the book was all the better because of it. I have always been a fan of Nora, despite what I know others think of her. For some reason I always liked her, probably because I think a female character can be strong without having to kick butt or something like that. Nora is strong in other ways. She is determined and goes for what she wants, she is fiercely protective of her friends and family, she is smart, and she deals well when thrown into paranormal situations she really had no experience with. That being said, she does adopt a little badassery in this one and I liked seeing her come into her Nephilim strength. At the same time, there were moments where I wanted to smack some sense into her. She makes some questionable decisions, but they are understandable at the same time. In the end though, I was happy with her character development. Now on to Patch. Be warned, this may get a bit fangirly because I adore Patch Cipriano. He is in my top three favorite fictional characters along with Daemon Black and Tod Hudson. If you thought Patch was great in the last books, well then you don't know anything. He exceeds himself in Finale and I swear this book is just made up of swoon. There were so many moments that I just wanted to read over and over again because they were so sweet and so perfect. Patch will literally do anything to help Nora and it is clear there is nothing and no one who is more important than her in his eyes. That kind of devotion is just something it is hard not to love. He is the embodiment of what it means to be a book boyfriend. Nora and Patch are a couple that has definitely not had it easy, and the events at the end of Silence just made things a lot more difficult. That being said, they are much stronger couple in Finale. I loved watching them work together as a team. That's not to say they didn't have their issues, because they did, big time. The difference was, this time they were willing to work through them together and not make the mistakes they had made in the past. They have realized that they are worth fighting for and that what they have is not something that should be given up on easily. I could probably sit here all day going on and on about everything that happened in Finale, but I do not want to get spoilery and there is just so much that could be spoiled. There are so many surprises in Finale that you get to the point where you simply do not know what to expect. Things that would never even cross your mind occur. This book is also an emotional rollercoaster. I spent the last one hundred pages in tears because of the multitude of emotions. I would go from happy to sad in a nano second. This book broke my heart at points. I am pretty sure there was one point in the book that killed a little piece of me and I do not know if I will ever get it back. Be prepared for an emotional onslaught. Finale was an amazing conclusion to one of my all-time favorite series. After I finished, I literally did not know what to do. I was a bit numb to be honest. I had to go back and re-read the last chapter in an attempt to accept that the series really had concluded. I waited what feels like an incredibly long time to read Finale and now that I have, I simply do not know what to do. I am so sad that there is no more to Patch and Nora's story but at the same time I am glad that I have a conclusion and closure to their story. It is a very conflicted feeling. So to wrap up what I am sure is a rambly review, I loved Finale and I think fans of the series will enjoy it as well. If you have not read this series yet, I highly recommend you go out and get yourself Hush, Hush and meet the wonderful characters that are Nora Grey and Patch Cipriano.
Review: Gripping Finale for a Tumultuous Series - Only true love could survive everything Nora and Patch have been through, but they are still standing on the edge of a cliff looking into the face of a war Nora is supposed to lead against the fallen angels like Patch. In Finale, Becca Fitzpatrick concludes the fallen angel story, not with a whimper, but with a bang. Nora has inherited the Black Hand's army when she killed the Black Hand himself, who also happened to be her father. Becoming the leader of the army, however, means she is now responsible for continuing their cause: stopping the fallen angels from possessing the bodies of the Nephilim during the holy month of Cheshvan. The angels have always taken advantage of this time to use the Nephilim's bodies, which is the only time they can feel human emotions, but their forceful possession and reckless use of the bodies is a time that is feared by all Nephilim. Now the Nephilim want to end Cheshvan, but they need someone to lead them. Nora is torn between being a newly created Nephilim and understanding the terror involved with the angel's possession, but she also loves her boyfriend Patch, who is a fallen angel. If she doesn't lead the army, she will break her oath and be killed. But how can she, not even as strong as the natural born Nephilim, stop the angels? And it doesn't help that she doesn't even know who to trust as the Nephilim and angels around her are all working for their own personal desires. They have even created a synthetic devilcraft, which is a substance that can enhance a Nephilim's abilities, but different prototypes also have severe consequences and side-effects. Nora learns about them first hand and her addiction to the substance may keep her from finding a peaceful way out of this war. But if there is one thing Nora won't do, it is sacrifice her love for Patch. I have had an up and down relationship with this series, but I have to say, I am so glad I hung in there. It turned out to be a really big upswing and left me very happy I didn't give up on it. Each book got better and better and the conclusion of the series was exciting and interesting. At times I was annoyed with either Patch or Nora for different reasons (in this one I was annoyed with her stupid addiction to the devilcraft- c'mon!), but something kept me going to the conclusion, which was really well crafted. My favorite part of this series were the supporting characters like Vee and Scott, but also mean Marcie and others. I think this is a common finding in all stories these days where the main characters can frustrated you, but the supporting characters are more dynamic, funnier, and easier to root for than the main characters. Maybe there isn't as much at stake for a supporting character, but I hope authors in the future consider making their main characters as endearing as their supporting characters. Either way, though, the story was definitely the best in the series and made me feel good about the end!

You all probably know that I am a mega-fan of the Hush, Hush series. From the moment I began it, I just fell in love with it. So to say I had high expectations going into Finale is putting it lightly, I would say my expectations were higher than they have ever been for a book (possibly with the exception of Harry Potter). With my expectations this high, I was worried that Finale would not live up to them, but honestly Finale surpassed every single incredibly high expectation I had. The book is addictive and surprised me at every turn. There were twists and turns left and right, and where Becca Fitzpatrick had the opportunity to go with the typical YA plot points, she didn't and the book was all the better because of it. For some reason I always liked her, probably because I think a female character can be strong without having to kick butt or something like that. Nora is strong in other ways. Finale by Becca Fitzpatrick is a wonderful book! I enjoyed the whole Hush Hush Series. If you are a fan of Fantasy I recomend reading this series. I'm sad that it's over but the ending was great. Loved it!!
