I bought the "Red backlit MX Black" (Note that this MX Black is not Cherry but Noppoo's own custom MX Black keys,but fortunately still retains most of the feel of Cherry mx black switches, with barely noticeable differences in type responses) edition "Lolita" keyboard and I was very much surprised by just how high quality it seemed to be even though it was a brand that originated in China (Albeit one known for quality keyboard products like their Noppoo Choc Mini Keyboard line).Aside from being in my opinion of the sexiest looking tenkeyless keyboards currently available on the market (I definitely see why it was named "Lolita" now, the photos don't even do this keyboard enough justice), the Noppoo Lolita features a fantastic assortment of Backlight features, as well as on-keyboard toggles for "N-Key Rollover" mode and "Toggle Windows Key Function On/Off" mode, all while not requiring any drivers to use them, as these functions are built directly into the keyboard itself, and can be used after just plugging in the keyboard to a computer. Heck, it can even be used on a Chromebook, which really surprised me!There are 6 backlight modes for this keyboard, with the   being used to switch between the modes. Aside from the default "Backlight Off" mode, there is the "Turn on Backlight for just the WASD & Arrow Keys", the "Turn on Backlight for All Letters, WASD, Arrow, and certain symbol keys", the "3 different lighting intensity full keyboard backlight modes [Low, Med, Eye-Blind High], and the "Breathe/Pulsate mode". Underneath the keycaps, the solid red background panel for the Red Backlit Edition of this keyboard actually amplifies the gorgeous look of the red lighting, by giving off the illusion that the background panel of the keyboard glows a dim red as well when backlight is on.The MX Black keys that this keyboard uses are not Cherry MX Blacks, but an alternative MX black switch designed, tested, and used by Noppoo themselves. Fortunately though, it retains much of the feel of Cherry MX Blacks, and can be barely noticeable in its differences. It has next to identical stats in its Linear performance when compared to Cherry MX Blacks.On the underside, it has five directions of cable routing, with a detachable Mini-USB cable. A separate connector guard piece included in a separate bag in this keyboard package can be attached next to the connector port to keep the connector in place on the keyboard, and can be taken off at any time when needed.Speaking of included pieces, the backlit version of this keyboard also includes within its package Translucent WASD & Arrow Keys, as well as a plastic keycap puller, and alternative red plates to switch out on the keyboard from the default black "Lolita" brand black plate next to the arrow keys, as well as those additional 3 small black plates positioned to the right of the ESC, F4, and F8 keys respectively that looks like it's nailed down onto the keyboard as the background plates but is actually customizable in default black or included alternative red (There are 4 plate pieces in red given total in the keyboard package, not including the additional piece which is the underside keyboard cable protection piece). These can easily be replaced via the keycap puller, and the plates can be taken off fairly easily by taking out surrounding keycaps and slowly but gently prying the plates off with your nails or a similar tool.|All in all, I'm loving this keyboard so far for my uses of light gaming and chatroom typing sessions, and this keyboard's size makes it very portable and perfect for my college dorm setting. Here is a list of pro's and con's for this keyboard in case readers suffer from tl;dr syndrome.PRO'S:-Plug & Play Keyboard, no need to install any drivers or softwares.-Six different backlight options, all of which can be toggled directly on the keyboard with [FN+Arrow Up/Down] keys.-The ability to toggle on and off "N-Key Rollover" via keyboard key combination [FN+F8].-The ability to toggle on and off "Turn Off Windows Key Function" via keyboard key combination [FN+F12].-Extremely compact Tenkeyless Keyboard. Also feels very solid in its body quality.-Compatible with Chromebooks. (Really surprised by this fact, so I had to include this as a pro)-Can be customized with included pieces to take off that "Lolita" branding.-Looks absolutely beautiful, especially with the backlight on. Not many keyboards can be called "sexy", but this is definitely one of them than can.CON'S:-Does not include ANY instruction manuals, I learned those key combination toggles through experience alone.-Does not use Cherry MX Black switches but Noppoo's very own custom MX Black switches, albeit of nearly identical linear performance. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I don't like the switches at all *by L***M on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 11, 2015* Bought this board because it was cheap for what it is, holes already drilled in the PCB for LEDs, a lot more cost + time effective, I don't like the switches at all, I'll go into more detail later in the review why. Board took about a week from ordering it to get here, as soon as it came in the mail I gave it a quick typing test and it felt exactly like cherry MX reds (later, i realized that they really were completely inferior to cherry MX reds because to activate the switch, you just had to push down the keycap so far.) Few days after I had it I put cherry MX reds in the z and x keys (for a video game called osu!) then I bought ultra violet and cyan LEDs, painted the case flat white, put blank white PBT keycaps (thin keycaps so you can see the LEDs through the keycap) on it and omg! o_o this board is sexy now!Overall I wouldn't recommend buying this keyboard unless you're a beginner to soldering and wanted to make something kinda cool relatively cheap. If you plan on using it as a everyday board then I'd recommend changing the switches in it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ my experience with this keyboard has been fantastic. When it comes to aesthetics *by A***N on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on October 27, 2014* To start things off, my experience with this keyboard has been fantastic. When it comes to aesthetics, I think this keyboard nails it. I think it has a minimalistic design that is accented by the red housing and red LEDs. The LEDs are very bright and can be turned down or off completely.When it comes to typing and gaming with this keyboard, the switches are great in my opinion. To be clear, this keyboard does not actually use cherry mx switches. Noppoo took 2 years to come up with their own cloned version of cherry mx switches. I got the red switches for this particular keyboard and I have to say they feel damn near exact to cherry mx red switches. The only difference one can pick up is that the Noppoo red switch is less tactile than the cherry mx reds. I personally don't mind having less tactile switches, but it's something to consider when buying this keyboard.
