They are matte so they don't have a cheap, shiny plastic look to them. They actually have a relatively modern styling and the matte black fits that well. The black is a "warm black." We have 4 of them side by side and they look great with 3 little junipers in them and a deciduous something. They are fairly lightweight but seem sturdy.For the price, it's a great deal from other ones i looked at. I have 2 more that need to be filled! In time... I like that they have a matching tray to keep any accidental over-watering off your furniture.They don't come with screens so you'll need your own to cover their drainage area.
