The Fudo on the Blade was why I chose this particular sword. I was worried about it looking cheesy, but in holding it and seeing it, it did not. Fudo was the selling point on why this sword over another by handcrafted swords. Now I Have a Samurai Sword with Fudo as the focus. In essence, the sword becomes more meaningful because of its link to the Fudo symbol. Do you pay 100 dollars for a china stamped blade, or an extra 160 for a handcrafted Sword? I think I made the right decision to go a little bit more into it with the bucks. The price is rather absurd. Not in it being far too much but in that the price is very low for a piece of art like this. Competitive market drives down the price, but make no mistake, this is a high quality sword for the price, where just a few years back, would have fetched 1000 dollar range. Review: Very OK - Nice addition to the collection. Good stand in if you don't want to pay the over $2000 for the real Paul Chen kami but I don't think I'd take out cutting due to the loose fittings it would probably turn into a rattle trap. But it's OK I'd say it's a solid 5 out of 10 as far as value and looks go. I have many H.M.S swords and all are quality katanas (great for show) for the price but just know feel of sword compared to price is a little lacking as if it should be about $150-175 range max. Would be great if it was leather wrapped instead of cord then it would have an awesome feel and a more pronounced hamon would be nice but at the price it is what it is. Not disappointed but not something to write home about.
