NICOR Lighting Torsion V-Springs (2-Pack) are precision-engineered galvanized steel springs designed to securely mount 5-inch and 6-inch recessed trims and LED downlights. Measuring 4 inches collapsed and extending to 8.25 inches, these springs feature dual hooks for a firm grip inside housings or universal clips. ## Description

These torsion springs are perfect for installing recessed trims and LED Downlights into 5-inch and 6-inch recessed housings. The Torsion springs (also called Chicken Legs or V-Springs) are bent together and inserted into housing and clipped onto speaclized hooks within the inside of the housing to secure the LED downlight, while providing upwards pressure to keep the downlight or trim against the ceiling/housing. If your housing does not have a place to hook the springs onto, you can utilize universal mounting clips, which slip onto the edge of the housing and provide a mounting mechansim for installing trims and downlights with torsion springs. Review: It worked fine, but its a pain to install - It was very hard to find this product anywhere, even Home Depot. I'm glad it was on desertcart for cheap. Used it to replace the broken ones for my shower fan cover. The only issue is that these are so far stretched apart (180 degrees) versus the ones that came with my fan (which are like, maybe, 60 degrees apart?) that it was so hard to do the necessary install. Should have required only one hand, but I needed two for this spring. Wish it was spaced closer together.
Review: Perfect clips to repair a 63 year old recessed ceiling light fixture. - A clip on the heavy glass lens of a recessed ceiling light in our 63 year old house broke while changing the bulb. Without both clips functioning the lens would not fit snug and securely. This clip worked as a suitable replacement.

It was very hard to find this product anywhere, even Home Depot. I'm glad it was on Amazon for cheap. Used it to replace the broken ones for my shower fan cover. The only issue is that these are so far stretched apart (180 degrees) versus the ones that came with my fan (which are like, maybe, 60 degrees apart?) that it was so hard to do the necessary install. Should have required only one hand, but I needed two for this spring. Wish it was spaced closer together.
