It fits my Olivetti "Underwood 21" (from the 1960's) just fine and types a rich, dark black. You can't go wrong with this replacement. Yes, it is plastic, but you are not going to find a metal spool anywhere. At least I don't think so, but you might get lucky. Who cares!
