But I am SO glad I bought a pair of these! They're so inexpensive, yet so effective and easy to use! Their unique shape makes them perfect for smoothing fondant on a cake. Do buy a pair, so you can hold onto the cake from the top or from one side with one smoother while rubbing the other smoother against the cake. Also be careful not to press down too hard, or you'll leave an imprint of the smoother's shape in your fondant.

This is one of the best tools you can have if you are working with fondant. It smooths the fondant so nicely and presses out air bubbles that lie between the cake and fondant. You can smooth the fondant into sharp corners around your cake edge, and press the edge of the smoother against the fondant to create a line to trim the fondant. It's such a simple tool, but so necessary for that crisp, professional look.
