I live outside Seattle were it is cold and damp much of the year. As such I make hearty fare when it comes to meals. What I do is buy whole chickens and then cut off what I want. The rest goes in to a stock pot to make chicken stock for soups and rice dishes. For those who have ever made homemade stocks you know all about skimming the stock for the first half hour. This worked very well but for the handle. It is way to shallow and needs to be dipped steeper so it can get down into the pot.
