Review: Best I've tried! - I was going to wait a few weeks to leave a review, but I'm so happy with this product I decided not to wait! At 61 I've been coloring my grays for about 20 years. I have tried every box brand from the cheapest to the pricier brands, and those sold at beauty stores. I tried my best to match my medium brown hair color, but everything in my color range left the roots too dark, almost black for dark browns, or too light for medium natural or ash browns. Some barely covered the grays at all. At this point being about 70 percent gray at the crown area, I thought I was going to have to just let my hair go gray. I stumbled onto this brand and liked the reviews and the fact that the brand has been around a long time. I bought the 4n medium brown and their cover gray developer. I used the 2-1 ratio on roots only for about 50 mins total. It covered the orangy-brown mess the last brand left and completely covered the new gray as well! I'm back to my natural color that I was afraid I'd never see again unless I paid a salon a fortune to have it done! Ater a few shampoos, the color has held up well with no fading. It has a mild pleasant scent, has a nice thick consistency, and left my hair looking shiny and healthy. I am elated to have found this line of products! Ps: it even covered the hard to dye grays in my eyebrows!
Review: First level 4 color I've had not turn my hair pitch black - Natural haircolor is 5a, but I prefer it slightly darker. I've tried just about every box dye that is 4N or 4A, as well as a handful of professional dyes (redken, matrix, wella), and it always turns out nearly jet-black (and doesn't fade to anywhere near level 4 for months). I mixed this with a random cheap brand of vol 10 developer, and was concerned that it didn't really seem like it was changing color. I went with it anyway, starting with my roots and then brushing it to the ends. With a 2:1 ratio of developer to dye, the mixture is loose enough to distribute easily to the ends with a brush or large-tooth comb. Only let it sit on for about 5 minutes once I was completely done, but I have super thick hair and it takes me a while to cover everything, so the roots had been saturating for probably 20-30m at that point. The ends of my hair are super damaged because I previously had it bleached to white, so they pick up color extremely quickly. If you have virgin or not extremely compromised hair, or if your hair is not so thick that it takes you forever just to get the roots covered, you could leave it in longer. Washed out super easy, and it is 3.5N. The undertones lean more red than green, as they should for a true neutral brown. My hair doesn't appear to be any more damaged than it was before dying.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How long should I keep the color on? And is it true that you start with other hair before you color roots with satin color?**
A: I start with my roots first always because mine are lighter just as you would with grey hair. 20-25min for regular hair 40min for silver, box has directions. Their 4N is the most natural 4N Ive always used. Also don't do your ends every coloring, I place color on my ends the last 10min of every 3-4th coloring or less to avoid blackening ends.

**Q: Where can you see the expire date?**
A: it's on very end of tube bottom part. However, sometimes it's not punched clearly and not in a format of a date, they sometimes put a code. you have to go to their website and ask. Developlus.com

**Q: Is there a color chart available?**
A: Satin does have a color chart. Visit satinhaircolor.com to view the full chart.

**Q: Can you use this with other developer?**
A: I only use Satin Developers as I don’t have the scientific knowledge to determine whether the chemicals in the individual products can be combined if not of the same brand.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Definitely recommend

Worked well and kept me from spending hours (and dollars) in the beauty salon. I used it for over 15 years as touch ups along with the Satin developers. Great coverage and easy to use with no smell. Now going gray . . .
