The cushioning and support padding is "just right". The stiching is of good quality. The swivel is a nice feature and is silent. I am a 220 lb., 6' (okay 230 lb.) Male. My wife is 108 lbs. 5' 2" and these chairs are comfortable and easily adjusted for both of us. These are not lightweight, they are sturdy. The pneumatics are good and easily adjusted. The packing is very good. Two chairs are shipped in one 2' x 2' x 2' box. Assembly is quick and simple. Each chair taking 5 minutes. The one necessary tool (allenwrench) is provided. (You get two for some reason) The price, particularly with Prime shipping , make these a good value.Negatives: despite being packed well, one of my bases arrived with a "ding" in it. This likely occured in manufacturing, and was packed up anyway. The dent is small and I am uncertain if I want to bother with a return. Amazon makes it easy if I choose to do so. There is a cheaply made, plastic, silvered, trim ring that is poorly fitting between the base and post. This needs to be rethought as it is of such poor quality that you shake your head. What was that product designer thinking? These are not made with "real" 1956 Chevy chrome. The chromed metal would not likely stand up to outdoor, porch or waterfront areas. I will be watching these closely for the development of any rust and will follow-up in 6 months.A solid 4 stars. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stool Pigeon *by K***N on Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2014* I found these bar stools easy to assemble -- in just fifteen minutes (remember to take the plastic caps off the hydraulic tubes) -- and solidly built. They're comfortable and jazzy, and we managed to fit the pair in our small kitchen. The hydraulic mechanism is nice for smoothly descending from the perch. I only wish it had the pump-up device like in beauty parlor chairs so that one could elevate the chair after sitting down. As it is, the stools have to be raised before sitting, if you want them raised at all.
