Sheds water well when put under a running faucet. The outer canvas material and flannel lining indicate 100% cotton, and the fill is polyester. My impression is it will block wind and be relatively warm.SizingI am 5' 11", about 180 lbs, wear a 40 jacket, and 32" waist pants. The medium just fit me and I normally would wear a medium sized vest. Its very form fitting and my feeling is if you wear a 42 jacket or 34" waist pants or just want more room for thick layers under it, a size large might work better.Storing (something to be aware of before buying)The instructions indicate when storing it needs to be put in a well ventilated area or possibly mold could form. My understanding is that the oil in the outer layer can discolor light colored clothing that contact it for some time. So putting this into a garment bag does not appear to be an option and if stored hung in a closet sandwiched between other items it might stain.
