## Description

This item is a collectible in the sense that it is well over 35 years old and supports a class of music that is slowly disappearing into the history books. Some of the rolls are actually over 80 years old. We have standardized the posting of these items to allow for an easier listing process. As such, we have set the prices $2.00 below the recommended values to compensate for any excessive wear or tear.

## Features

- Traditional Player Piano Roll
- A player piano, commonly known as the "pianola", is a piano containing additional mechanisms that allow it to perform music without a pianist
- Player pianos are often known as pianolas, although the Pianola was in fact a trade name for a brand of player piano produced by the Aeolian Corporation
- The player piano uses suction and air pressure to operate the player mechanism, which is then distributed to 88 tubes (one for each key).
- When a hole in the roll passes over a hole in the tracker bar, the air is admitted into the system, causing that key to drop down and make a sound.
