I wore them right out of the box and they didn't need a break in period. I wear them to work with slacks or pant suits. It fits snugly and is seriously comfortable, no need to break the shoe in or anything. It arrived quickly and no weird smell. I have wide feet and ordered this shoe in the only one available - medium. It fits me well but a (W) would fit better. Otherwise, I can still wear it. I ordered a size 8.5 and its very snug, could have ordered a 9 and it would probably have had a tiny bit more room. Overall, the shoe is extremely comfortable, chic and adds a touch of elegance to anyone looking to use this for work and on a budget like me. IMO Franco Sarto is the only brand that provides both: very comfortable and looks nice (means not cheap plastic).
