So much so that the rust has stained the concrete below. I live in the midwest and not in a salty environment. The only reason that i didn't give it one start was because Coyote warranty is sending me a replacement. If something has changed in the stainless steel to where it doesn't rust will update to a 5 star. The rusting was the only issue. It should be noted that I have a Coyote stainless steel grill in my outdoor kitchen in the same environment with absolutely zero rust.
