Title and description say 8 hrs, but description also says 4.5 hrs.** A: I would say that 8 hours seems about right. When I lit them about 5:00 pm, I know they were still burning at midnight. **Q: what are the dimensions of these votive candles thanks** A: I don't have them at my current location, but I think they had the same diameter (width) of a typical votive but were slightly taller, maybe 3/4in tall? **Q: What is the "clear container" made of?** A: The clear containers are a hard plastic. Note that even though they are plastic the candles burn all the way down without melting the plastic. Hence the plastic does not appear to be a hazard of any sort, in my experience. **Q: Are these red or a burgundy?** A: They are dark red. Sort of between burgundy & red. They look nice unlit but burn terribly. The wax doesn’t burn off enough and the wick drowns in the melted wax. The result is a puny little flame that goes out in a few hours. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wedding Reception Candles_use these ones! *by A***S on June 7, 2016* I was searching for a candle that I could use in mason jars at my wedding. I bought these versus a votive since a votive candle would just melt in the mason jar and I wanted a clear case versus a metal case so it would look nicer. This candle is the one to get!!! I have tested it and so far it has lasted over 5 hours and still going strong. Just note that the white part will melt within the first 1-2 hours and then will continue to burn the melted wax (clear color) in the cup. There is no scent at all which we need due to everyone's sensitivities. Well worth paying a little bit more than the cheaper versions as the other ones don't last very long. The only thing I would say is it does spill a tiny, tiny bit of wax so you might want to keep it in a container of some sort so it doesn't get on table linens. ### ⭐ These candles burn for six hours, NOT eight! ... *by B***R on March 16, 2017* These candles burn for six hours, NOT eight!
