Starbucks could never. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nellie and Joe's 100% Key Lime Juice - Excellent substitute when you don't have fresh squeezed key limes! *by R***T on May 17, 2013* My brother lived in Key West for about a decade and we would visit him a couple times each year. On those trips we made sure to have local specialties like conch fritters and, of course, key lime pie. Over the years we have tried to replicate the great taste of those local pies, and have found that this Nellie and Joe's product comes as close as one can get without buying the key limes and squeezing them ourself! It has no preservatives, so you really need to put it in the refrigerator upon delivery and use it sooner than later. Our favorite recipe is fairly traditional; 3 beaten egg yolks, 14oz sweetened condensed milk, and 1/2 cup of this key lime juice whisked and then poured into a graham cracker crust. We will bake the pie at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes and then let it cool before chilling it in the refrigerator for serving. We like to top off each serving with two things -- a dollop of vanilla whipped cream (1/4 pint whipping cream, one tablespoon sugar and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla, all whipped together fairly stiffly) and then a light coating of lime zest over the pie and the whipped cream. It not only tastes great but it looks good too. It is not hard to find the regular Key West Lime Juice around here, but that stuff is not the same as the 100% Key Lime Juice product. We are very glad that the 100% key lime juice is available here and recommend that you give Nellie and Joe's 100% Key Lime Juice a try if you are in the mood for a delicious key lime pie.
