The 90 degree fitting is what's called a rollover check valve if it's flipped over the ball check closes and won't allow fuel to leak out. **Q: Can this be used as gravity fed auxiliary** A: I am currently using this method in my 2015 ram I bought the rds kit for transfer but used my own valves ....later I am going to install a solenoid valve and pump for faster transfer. It is a good tank and very well made mine came with a hole in top that was blocked off already tapped to the same size and configuration of a tank gauge that I had it worked perfect !
