After your shower, you just pick it up and (You can use a tissue or paper towel if you prefer... Thankfully, you can actually grab it by the loop with your toe, haha.. You do have to remove the drain part itself when using this but for me, it's worth it. If I want to take a bath, that part stays near by under our bathroom sink. Effective, four dollar, time-saver. I wash it every time I clean the tub and it stays white. No mold or mildew issues. We've been using the one we have for around ten months and it looks the same as when I bought it. Tempted to buy a couple more in case they ever get discontinued... **Q: I have an old pop up drain - will this catcher work with pop up drains?  If so, how is it installed?**
A: it will work if the plug or stopper is removable.the hair catcher is recessed into the drain which is why the stopper or plug must be removed.because they hair catcher is recess in falls into the drain partially, this is why the hair catcher stays in place so nicely.basically what it comes down to is if you're stopper or plug is removable this hair catcher will most likely work with your old drain.

**Q: What are the dimensions of the basket?**
A: The top of the basket is 1 13/16th inches across.  The bottom of the basket is 1 1/8th inches across.  The whole thing stay put with the wider flange holding it in place. The holes in the bottom are very small, so the hairs need to be emptied frequently or you'll think you drain is "slow."  My drain has wider than usual cross beams in it so they also deter drainage.  I have short hair & empty the basket at least every other shower if not every one.  My plumber was very complementary of my find & wanted to know where I'd gotten it.  He was here for a very stopped up kitchen sink!

**Q: How do you install?**
A: There is no real installation required.  You just place the device on top of your drain.  Gravity and water pressure will generally hold it in place.

**Q: I "cook" in my bathroom and wonder if this would work in the bathroom sink when I'm washing dishes to keep food particles from going down the drain.**
A: I'm sure it would.  However the center is higher than the outside so it won't be flat at the drain.  But the holes are plenty small enough that food would not go through.  You may want to check the the size of your sink drain to make sure the center of this item will set down in the drain opening.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easier to Clean When Dry, but That Means Hairy Mess Cannot Be Cleaned Up Immediately

This product works fine for me. Stays in place, no curling edges, catches lots of hair. The problem is that it's very difficult to clean out the hair when the hair is wet. The hair is all tangled on little knobbies and twirled around the haircatcher. I learned by accident that for some reason it's much easier to remove the hair after it is dry. However, I don't like to leave a hairy mess in the drain after my shower and certainly not when somebody else is going to use the shower after me. And even if no one else is taking a shower, when I leave the hair in the drain to dry, I inevitably forget about it until I am in the shower next time and have usually already turned the water on, re-wetting the hair and making it difficult to remove again.
