I have keratosis pilaris/KP/strawberry legs/chicken skin on my thighs, lower legs, butt and my arms. This soap seriously cuts down on the redness. It NOT a permanent solution (there isn't one) but it can give you at least a day or two of decent looking skin. I was VERY surprised because nothing I've ever tried worked so I've long since given up. It's somewhat drying, as you might expect soap to be.-------------------------UPDATE (2021):I turned this soap into liquid soap and omg I got TWO full 16oz pump bottles out of 1 bar, much easier to use. Google it.And I started using it with these Korean scrubbing mitts (game changer): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CJLKLDX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1.... blown away. The amount of dead skin this combo takes off.........well, take a look at the pic and hold on to your lunch lmao. That's from 1 shower with the mitt/soap. Sorry it's gross, but that's KP for you. My skin feels smooth as glass after. And it's logical why - KP is keratin (dead skin) build up that causes hair follicle inflammation and creates the bumps AND the red spots (strawberry legs and chicken skin). Activated charcoal is a great purifier. Scrub off the excess keratin with the mitt and soap, let the follicles breathe and let the charcoal to help with the clean up and calming of the inflammation.My routine is simple:1) stand in a hot, then warm shower long enough to get your skin hydrated and to soften the top layer2) 1-2 pumps of the liquid soap per arm/leg3) thoroughly/firmly scrub in a vertical direction, up/down - the excess dead skin will either show up on the mitt or start to bead up in little grey rolls (as per the picture)4) Gentle lotion right after to lock in moisture from the shower, *nothing with acids*, instead maybe colloidal oatmeal (Aveeno and St Ives have that). Dry skin only exacerbates the condition.Wouldn't recommend to do this every day - too harsh, maybe 2 times a week with a body wash the rest of the time.I sincerely hope this helps someone out there. I've suffered, yes, *suffered*, with this condition for so long and nothing EVER worked. No benzoyl peroxide, no salicylic acid, no body washes, no dry brushing, no oils, no moisturizers, nothing until I hacked this together. I still get the red spots but it's much reduced, at least my skin is smooth. Which I then shaved into individual use slivers to divide between myself, my daughter, and 2 of my sisters. All of us have very different skin types, from VERY sensitive (eczema and acne breakout prone) to oily to perfect (that is the only word I know to decribe that particular sister's skin... but I'm not bitter ;)For the first time ever, we loved the way our skin felt! We all felt AMAZING after using each of them. But this Activated Charcoal bar was my personal favorite because I had really bad acne on my shoulders that I had been battling since before summer; making it embarrassing to wear a swimsuit or tank top even though I'm otherwise very healthy (work out daily, eat healthy, drink water, take my vitamins, etc...) and was looking forward to my VERY FIRST time wearing a bikini. I just couldn't get the acne on my shoulders to even BEGIN to heal... but this bar of soap changed all of that. The first time I used it, I took a bath, lathered it up and let the suds sit on my shoulders for several minutes, rinsed and then did it again. When I got out of the tub, most of the redness and swelling had gone down! I repeated the process almost everyday (I always use coconut oil after a bath or shower to moisturize) and within the week, it was almost non existent!I don't care if it's expensive... I will buy this again and I HIGHLY recommend it.I also love that this soap is made in Seattle, Washington which is right up the road from me.
