It is made to protect engine parts during long periods of storage. It would not hurt anything, but is just money wasted. I would recommend using Mercury QuickCare, it keeps fuel fresh for up to 30 days, and prevents corrosion of engine parts, that can be caused by ethanol in the fuel, also you may want to additionally use Mercury QuickClean , this product cleans the carburetor , fuel injectors, valves , and plugs as you are running the motor. **Q: How much fuel does 12 oz. Treat?** A: I put 2 ounces to 12 gallons but recommendations might be different **Q: What's the difference between this and the Quickleen?** A: Quickleen is used to prevent carbon deposits.
