I was shocked at all the bad reviews it got and wondered if the company's quality-control had declined. But I got it anyway based on my own good experiences and have not been disappointed. It is easy to set up. The volume of the number announcement allows me to hear the number from almost anywhere in my large, one-story house. I like that I can turn off the audible beep for the message indicator (the light is enough for me; I find the beeping annoying if I want to delay writing down messages for a few minutes while I put groceries away or take the dog out).
