This smelled of neither, but instead there was a very strong acetone / metallic smell from opening it. Used in some amuse Boucher tartlets (against my first instincts) to see if it tasted any different once cooked. No. Awful. No HINT of porcini or truffle about it. I had no option other that to simply throw away. It was well in date, (2025), unopened and stored appropriately.
