Review: Unmatchable ceiling product: Great price for a beautiful result if you're willing to work for it - Also great if you have less interest in investing the work. I have used these many times now and will continue as I renovate old houses. Fantastic product and this particular pattern is one of the more affordable ones available. Looks elegant. My process has become as follows: I paint them with a coat of insl-x stix primer before I install, using a paintbrush and a roller, alternating to get good coverage because the texture is fairly raised. This makes re-priming or painting after install much easier and also greatly decreases translucency of tiles so that adhesive pattern used to adhere is less visible. I use the all purpose Loctite power grab as adhesive and buy it by the bucket so I can apply with a small plastic v-notched trowel. I apply adhesive evenly across all the flat areas of the backside (less visible from the front than untrowled straight-from-tube S-shaped application, esp if you decide not to paint tiles at all). I stick the tile to the ceiling gently, slide into place exactly aligned with previous tiles, then use a clean, dry paint roller to really press it into the ceiling. When I need to cut tiles, I snap my knife every half dozen cuts or so, so that I am using a sharp blade (against a good straight edge). Cut like mat board: use several lighter strokes per cut (instead of muscling through in one swipe of the knife). I have a lot of experience with home repair but I am too small and too old now to install full sheets of drywall on ceilings up a ladder and by myself. This is a lightweight option very easy to apply alone, and looks beautiful. Just takes work. I think it's well worth it. The final step, when I have time, is I caulk the seams between the tiles with alex plus paintable acrylic caulk. If I have time for this step and then re-priming or painting the whole surface, the result is exquisite. If I don't have the time, you can tell these are individual tiles but they still look great and folks with a less discerning eye than mine would possibly not notice the seams or not be bothered by them, and just see the lovely pattern. Unpainted, you cannot really tell they are thin styrofoam if the ceiling is 9' or higher, and you definitely cannot tell if they are primed and loose their translucency and stryofoaminess, at any height. I don't use them on walls or anywhere in reach of touch, as they are thin styrofoam and not intended for touch or accidents in "higher traffic" areas of the house. Things leaned against or falling against walls would dent/damage them and repair would involve stiff mud sculpting and repainting, so... ceilings are the spot! Really highly recommend.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just beautiful!

This stuff is just fantastic. Let me start by saying we live in a 109 year old house and every room in our house has character to it. Unfortunately our kitchen lacked any style thanks to an old drop ceiling that was installed probably 30 years ago. One day I finally got tired of it and just started tearing it down. I knew that there would be some imperfections with the plaster ceiling with the house settling over time, and I was willing to skim coat the ceiling with mud to get it to look better, but then I stumbled across this stuff! Now our ceilings are 9 ft, which alone would look better than what we had before, but with this stuff up we get compliments from anyone who passes through our house. Shipping, while not prime, was within a week for us. Installation was very easy. Honestly anyone with a knife and a ladder could install this without problems. We glued ours up with some locktite adhesive that is good for foamboard and didn't have any bleeding occur. We chose not to paint it or anything, and it still looks great. The price for the quality it unbeatable. Faux tin that can be bought at the big box stores would not have been this cheap, looked this good, or installed as easily. We plan on buying more for our foyer in the future. UPDATE: It has been about a month now and still no issues. Everything has stayed in place just as it was the day we installed it. Still very pleased!
