I recently gave birth to my son and he sleeps in my room so I can nurse him through the night when he wakes up hungry. I usually keep it on the low setting so that it is just enough light to see him in the middle of the night but not too much to hurt our eyes. I keep it on my nightstand and as soon as I hear him fussing I can reach over and hit the power switch (sometimes a little hard to find in the dark as they are touch buttons and not raised at all). It can also go bright enough if needed to light up the whole room (perfect for middle of the night diaper changes) but the LED light is still not as blinding as turning on a lamp. I am not sure of how long the battery lasts as I keep it on my night stand and it is always plugged in. I really love this light and will definitely buy more for the baby room as well as other areas of the house. They are so easy to use and love the dimming feature!!! We took it camping and It started downpouring the rain unexpectedly. Well I tried to get everything up and forgot in the commotion this was hanging from our canopy. It was literally soaked with water all inside it, u could see the water in the light over half way full. I thought it was trash but just put it in my van anyway. We got home and it dried out so I was like well, what the heck, lets just try to charge it. It is 3 wks later and my daughter is still using it as a nightlight!!! I could not believe it! I did make sure it was not having any technical issues such as flickering or ANY issues since it could be a fire hazard but it was fine after it was completely dried out.Original: Great product! A little bigger than expected but my child loves it and it works well. I love that it is rechargeable saving me batteries and it can be used when we have power outages. I did not know they had a different model with a dimmer I just saw this one, which the brightness does adjust, but it is pretty bright. This will definitely come in handy with the power outage aspect as it will light an entire room easily. I can't knock off stars for not paying attention to the brightness for use as a night light because this works well, stays charged and will definitely be used. I should have read better on the brightness as it is my fault which has nothing to do with the product itself. It has 3 buttons, the power button then up and down to adjust the brightness. I found out at 5 am the 1st night of use that my lil boy says it is too bright even on the lowest setting, only when it was next to his bed, when moved it was fine. He came and woke me up saying I need to move his night light lol. He is used to a very small amount of light in his room so that's where the problem is.
