The wood is the thickest wood I’ve ever seen on a cedar wood raised bed. I bought 4 of these for my new garden project and put them all together in less than 10 mins each, by myself with no tools! I think these are such a great product for anyone but especially if you don’t have carpentry skills to build raised beds. Also, the is just such a high quality product at such an affordable price. The weed barrier that comes with these beds if so easy, you just drop it in. What a great high quality product that makes gardeners life’s a little less work and help us build the gardens of our dreams! This is a high quality item made out of cedar which is hard to find in California (and expensive). The smell out of the box was wonderful-like our cedar chest.I did not use the weed-barrier that came with it since I put the unit on my garden. I wanted the root system to go down into the soil for better nutrition.Update:I liked the ease of setting this up instead of starting from scratch, and purchased the 4 x 4 unit also. Cedar naturally resists ROT over time. It doesn't swell or warp when wet, even over extended periods. You can't expect to get a raised garden to last if it's made out of pine....It went together really easily. Super sturdy - good thickness.Also it's taller than any of the other beds I have tried. My wife does the gardening, I just do the buying.
