Not "too" heavy, but it will require some upper-body strength to "wield" and/or wear/carry as part of a cosplay outfit. If you intend to simply display it - be it on a mount on your wall or on a horizontal display - IT LOOKS AMAZING !!! My ONLY constructive criticism is that I would have liked the hilt grip to be "straight" rather than slightly tapered toward the top (if that makes sense). Not sure if I can DIY modify this without ruining the grip - but it's not such a big deal to decrease my FIVE STAR review of this replica sword.
