I bought this book after two other fellow PhD students recommended it to me.  My undergraduate degree was in sports and exercise science and my PhD involves molecular biology.  The book is aimed at people in this sort of position and it does it very well.  It's written clearly and succintly, well laid-out in short sections, so you can "dip" in to find out about a specific topic or lab procedure and you can easily look up a term. It's also small enough to carry around with you and into the lab.
