You don’t want to overheat the wax so that it bubbles and burns you want it to melt slowly and evenly so it will take a little bit of time but not a lot.Good ventilation: you want the air to be able to get into the burner so it’s a good idea to place the burner on a flameproof tray or dish out the way of any drafts.By having the flame low and steady you also avoid burning the melting spoon. It’s also good idea to remember to wipe it down carefully after each use. that way you avoid buildup on the back of the spoon, this helps to stop it turning black.Overall I think this is a nice little budget wax burner. I don’t expect it to last years and years but it does the job it was bought for so overall I think it’s pretty good, if you remember the tips that I’ve put up in this review you shouldnt have any issues. ### ⭐ Cheap, broken and ineffective *by K***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 February 2020* This thing is not good, I don’t recommend it at all. At first I was struggling to keep the candle lit - when the spoon goes on the rest it blocks out so much air that the candle kept going out. Secondly it produces so much ash that just gets everywhere. Wax was dripping from the candle onto the insides of the rest and onto the table underneath. And then last but not least, after about an hour of use, the spoon handle dropped off! Such a bad piece of set up, not worth your money. ### ⭐ Not Practical, waste of money *by P***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 June 2020* Very disappointed, lovely item but not practical, as soon as you put the spoon on candle goes out !
