Overall it looks well made but it has a design flaw with the stripper guide. Most every roller rod has 2 rollers for the stripper ( first guide) This rod only has 1 + a fixed cross piece. If you run the line between the two it rubs on the fixed cross piece. I needed it for a offshore trip and had to run the line under the one roller which isn't ideal as it creates too much of an angle. Since I've already used it I can't return it and will have to pay to have the stripper fitted with a second roller. DON'T buy Okiaya rods. There are better choices for about the same $. I called and emailed Okiaya and got zero response. So much for customer service

Great Rod!!I purchased this rod for a D.I.Y. shark trip down to Florida. This rod, paired with a Penn Senator 9/0, was more than adequate to help us land plenty of sharks during the trip. Our largest shark landed was ~6 ft, 150 lbs!
