Review: Nice Typewriter, But Carry Case Is Missing - I gave this typewriter 5 stars because it works nicely. Some parts are plastic, while others are metal. It functions like it should. I couldn’t get the black to type until I figured out the ribbon was upside down. Took the ribbon off, turned it over so the red was on the bottom and voila! It types nicely. It has a nice classic look to it. My only disappointment is that the case the listing said would come with it is missing. Otherwise I am satisfied. It’s a hefty typewriter, solid and sturdy, and it was well packed. Worth the money. Review: Junk! - This is the worse piece of junk I have ever purchased. Unfortunately, I didn't open the box to use the typewriter until yesterday, long after the return window had closed or it would have been returned immediately. It's poorly manufactured, the paper roller knob fell off, the roller would'nt work, the return carriage was broken, the keys tinny and difficult to push, the line spacing control didn't work, and the capital letter button was stuck because all small spring had not been attached. I will go in the garbage, a complete disappointment and waste of money. DO NOT BUY IT! I thought it was poor quality and had problems getting it to work properly. Good luck! **Q: How do you change the ribbon?** A: 1) Remove the ribbon cover by pulling it back toward you. 2) Set the shift lock and move the ink setting to red. 3) Push up two typebars from opposite sides until they wedge in place near where they strike the platen. 4) Remove one ribbon spool by pulling the ribbon-holding finger out of the way, then lifting up on the spool. 5) Repeat on the other side, then remove the ribbon from the ribbon vibrator up near the platen. Take note of how the ribbon is threaded through the vibrator because you'll need to put the new ribbon in the same way.
