Functional? Perhaps I'll never know... *by M***E on August 19, 2019* I was expecting a paired-down, perhaps even primitive version of the Scottish Dirk. Indeed, this is what I was looking for, something inexpensive and functional that could be used in the field. What I received is a gorgeous, solid, work of art that rather took my breath away. Honestly, I should probably knock off a star because I don't think I could bring myself to use it in a camp or bush setting! It came razor sharp. The 90 degree spine is fairly thick (3/8"), and the handle is peened and tight, so it could very well take some abuse. The blade is much broader than what is now understood to be a 'Scottish Dirk' (nearly 2" at the handle), and there is no false edge, which has the effect of making it less a weapon and more of a functional tool. Although J2 is a stainless steel, which can be a bit more brittle than your typical 1095, so perhaps it's for the best. At any rate, it's a beautiful addition to my collection. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Grip broke otherwise a decent knife. *by H***K on December 12, 2021* Grip wood broke.
