Review: Great for use as a trailer wheel lock - I can easily slide the open end of the U around the springs on my trailer and the two prong ends of the U through two holes in the rim of my trailer tire wheel, and then I attach the bar lock. Someone can then move my trailer a very short distance before the wheel, U Lock, and spring bind up against each other. I feel that this is much more secure than just having just a lock on the latch at the ball. After using it a few times, I find I can install it from a squatting position without having to crawl under the trailer. I have another U lock which didn't work because the U was too short. This one has such a long U that it works well. I have been using it for approximately one year and it is showing no signs of weathering. Great product.

So, I don't know how this lock might stand up to constant exposure to more challenging conditions than it encounters while my bike is stored in the basement. When I registered my keys, I discovered that this lock is made by that other lock company whose name makes you think of Superman.

This is a great extra long u-lock. It's held up great for me and I bike year round in all four seasons. There is a problem with the actual locking mechanism. As many people have pointed out, you sometimes have to use the key to align the key hole and make sure the two layers align. This can be problematic when you're in a hurry, or it's raining, or dark.
