I have this washer and I am going through the same problem. This is the washer that was recalled. The solution is either fix it and get one year warranty from that date or give you the depreciation amount for it which is not equal to buying a new one. I told them to fix. This took at least 4 months with 3 different technicians trying to do so. After it was fixed, it is still making noise, and stopping in middle of the cycle. It will start washing your clothes, will take all the time necessary to do so, and when done, you will see lot of flashy lights. Once you open it, your clothes will be soaked with water and not done. I usually repeat this process 3 or 4 times, then I would need to change the load, meaning I have to do the current one by hand, and put a smaller one instead, it finally works. I have a son and need to do lot of laundry. I feel that I spend more time with this washer than with my son. This morning, I received a notice in the mail of a Proposed Class Action Settlement against this Samsung top load Washing Machine. You get either cold or warm. To get warm you have to turn the cold almost all the way off. Can't get hot at all. Samsung sent a repair service after the first call and he said that was normal after the second call we gave up. Cannot remove the dispenser gray to clean it - only one we can get out is the detergent and the softener is the one that clogs up. The old washer ran a complete cycle in 30 minutes - this takes over an hour. No energy savings there. Less than 2 years old, and the motor burns out... it doesn't move the drum at all.I contacted Samsung to find out that it'll cost $250.00 - $300.00+ just to have a tech come and "look" at it... and that I'll be charged for the parts up front "preorder" and if those aren't the right parts, I'll also be charged for the correct parts... and even better still, the motor & drum are sold as 1 unit at $300 - $400 a pop... so, the initial cost just to have the tech come and "look" at the machine is more than I paid for the machine itself!!! So... I will be taking my money elsewhere & you should too!!!
