The metric you want is Lumens. OttLite doesn't provide this information, presumably because the number is pretty underwhelming. My guess would be 150-200 Lumens. It's a great task and reading light, but the batteries just don't last long enough. Also, the Nokia charger makes it run brighter, but in doing so the LED panel becomes warm to the touch, because the charger puts out too much voltage. It works, but may shorten the life of the light, though the extra brightness is welcome. **Q: I bought the cord suggested to be ourchased witht his lamp and it would not fit on the lamp. What cord will?** A: I bought the PowerLine adapter many years ago. The adapter has several voltage settings. I leave mine at 9v. Another option is rechargeable batteries. You can get more bang for the buck by purchasing an Ott Magnifier task lamp. Had mine for years and the bulb lasts at least 2 years. I use mine daily. Most Home improvement stores sell the 13w bulb. **Q: How can I get a replacement bulb** A: This led lamp has a LED panel only, no light bulb. It is lightweight and the battery life seems good. My slight disappointment is that it is not as bright as I had hoped. I use the light for diamond painting and I wanted to replace my light box with it, but it’s not quite bright enough.
