Finally I decided to purchase a chain leash hoping it would solve my problem. She was 4-5 months old when she destroyed the old leashes. We have had this leash for about 3 months. She is bigger and stronger and it is still very reliable. He's sweet but powerfully playful. I purchased the leash in hopes he would find the chain leash less fun. It worked the very first time we used it. I was happy with the quality of the leash. The handle was sturdy and well padded, the chain leash withstood the first and only bite from our playful Pit, and the clasp seems sturdy and reliable. We are taught to hold the handle of a leash in our right hand and the left hand grasps the leash half way between you and the dog for best control. A chain leash doesn't work well unless you are wearing gloves so I wouldn't use this leash normally.
