I have been a LONG time DevaCurl user, and I was pretty happy with how their products left my hair, which is curly (3a), coarse, color-treated, middle aged and dry! A friend whose hair had been looking really healthy told me she had been using this so I figured, why not. I had no idea how much better my hair could look and - equally important - feel! it is somehow both cleaner feeling and way softer than when I was using Deva. Deva sometimes left my hair feeling a little pasty or like there was residue, and New Wash just leaves my hair bouncy, shiny, healthy and soft. It feels like it did 20 years ago. I didn't realize your hair could feel YOUNG! I have fine hair, but a lot of it, that I have kept "natural", not using any harmful chemical treatments or products other than shampoo & occasionally conditioner, but my hair was becoming drier & frizzy unless I used a "hot-iron" which I was concerned would harm my hair. Trying to find the best option for me, I first tried "regular" Hair Wash & noticed immediate improvement, following the instructions exactly, making sure all was washed out. There was a lot of hair loss, dime size "clumps" of it, but I figured that was just part of my hair adapting to a new product. After using New Wash for awhile, my hair returned to dry & frizzy. So I tried Rich. Again, immediate improvement, but the hair loss continued. I wasn't concerned yet. Then the Rich became too "heavy", leaving my hair limp & lifeless. I returned to the regular again, and that worked for a few times, but then my hair became limp & lifeless like the Rich had done. So I decided to try the New Wash (Deep). Again, my hair texture was good, but hair loss still continued. As Deep became too drying, I would switch between the products to try to keep my hair smooth & bouncy. Comments by family at Christmas had me looking closely in a mirror & I noticed how much thinner my hair seemed to be, and realized I could see scalp throughout my hair, where I never had before. All this hair loss I've been having for 6+ months, it seems wasn't being replaced with new hair!!!! I checked reviews on Amazon & found this is not an uncommon problem. Through those reviews, I discovered other no-shampoo products and the term co-wash. Searching through all the options and reading reviews, I discovered LuxeOrganix and their products. The first time I used it, the hair loss was minimal. The next and following times, no hair loss!!! I decided to do an experiment, and tried New Wash again...Hair loss was excessive. I returned to LuxeOrganix and have been using it faithfully now for weeks, with little-to-no hair loss!!
