I was impressed with the 8" chef's knife so I recently ordered this. The Titan series is the only Schmidt knives that I own or have used so my thoughts: The blade thickness seems to be accurate on both knives. It appears that the quality of the steel is excellent - sharp out of the box and wicked sharp after some tweaking and honing. So far the blade seems to hold the edge well. Not the greatest as far as weight distribution and not a heavy knife but they are a very comfortable knife to use. The only con that I can imagine is the handle material - comfortable but not sure how long it will last. I still have a junk knife for doing things that are below these wonderfully crafted knives. This set is a great value, and has every knife you would realistically need.
