This DOES NOT make silly putty. Sure, it makes a putty like substance that may or may not be silly, but it bares no resemblance to actual, store bought, Silly Putty. I was obsessed with silly putty as a kid and, to this day, have a collection of the stuff. (I literally have over 300 eggs of it) so I do consider myself a bit of an expert.The gooey paste you make with this is closer to that of gak. Which is still pretty cool, but nothing like that of the all powerful Silly Putty.You can't really shape and mold this stuff, unlike store bought Silly Putty.This stuff dries out, unlike Silly Putty. (I have silly putty that's been in the open air for the last 20 years and it's every bit as pliable as it was brand new)This stuff bounces, sure, but nothing like Silly Putty.So to make a long story...um...long, if your kid (or you for that matter) has never experienced the real deal, then go ahead and make this stuff and even and call it "silly putty".
