The new one is noticeably less powerful with a slower spin speed, but still is effective. I get about 15 mins of use per battery. Charging takes several hours. It's good to have additional batteries, though 15 mins is usually enough run time. I love how the batteries are also used in a variety of other devices. Easy to change out the string cartridges.
