Do they seal as good as the foodsavers?** A: I had to mess around with the bag material to get it to work in my Foodsaver machine (V2244). See my review for details on how I got it to work. **Q: Does this work on a foodsaver fm2000** A: These should work on all Foodsaver model machines. We carry a variety of roll combinations and premade bags in our Amazon store: FoodVacBags **Q: Why can't I get get these to vacuum?** A: That depends. I think the problem with the ones that I bought, similar to some real FoodSaver brand ones I bought some time ago, is the channeled side of the bag isn't sturdy enough. When you put it in the machine to vacuum, the channels are mashed flat and the machine thinks it's removed all of the air and then seals it. I bought these recently and put away 40 pounds of chicken breasts. I had to throw away every other bag I made. I previously had 2 rolls of Weston brand...they were perfect. **Q: Are they boilable, microwaveable?** A: With regard to microwaving them, this would depend in large part on what was inside the bag and on how long you placed it in the microwave at what power setting. Anything with sugar in it, at a high power setting, for a long time, is going to cause a cooking disaster no matter WHAT kind of "bag" you may have it in to begin with! The real question is, "What kinds of things can I reheat in the microwave using these bags?" or maybe "Are these bags safe to use at all inside a microwave?" I get the sense that they are safe at least for things that don't get too hot... But I would also be concerned about what kinds of chemicals, if any, end up being off-gassed if the bag is heated by a microwaveβ€” that is the question we still don't have the answer to here. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Vacuum sealing food is fun again! *by S***S on January 16, 2017* I like to use my Food Saver vacuum sealer, but the bags are so expensive it kind of takes the "fun" out it. Every time I'd use a bag I kept thinking how much money it was costing me. So I searched for other options and I found these and they're great. They are the exact size I needed. The price is affordable so I don't hesitate to freeze as much as I want. I also purchased these because I wanted to try my hand at sous vide cooking and they are thick enough to do that. The rolls are large so they won't fit in most sealers, but I was able to lay the roll in the compartment to cut the bag. Much easier than using scissors. But even if I did have to use scissors, these bags (and the great price) are well worth purchasing.The bags seems to be of good quality. I had no problem sealing them. Time will tell if they hold their seal, but I don't expect them not to.The width of this bag is also the perfect size for me to freeze portion sizes of pasta sauce, chili, soups, etc. Because it's best to freeze liquids before vacuum sealing them, I discovered that the Glad containers are the perfect size for the 8" wide bags. The containers I use hold 25 oz, 3 1/8 cup. The inside space is 6" across, so after my food is frozen, I simply run warm water over the container enough to release the food, and then slip the frozen chunk into the food storage bag. (Be sure to wipe the top inside of the bag to remove any moisture before sealing.) I also use these containers to store cooked meats such as hamburger that I can thaw and use to quickly make tacos, sloppy joe's and chili. Because the food is frozen in a chunk, the bags don't lay flat like I'd like, but the ease of sealing them is a trade-off I can live with. I've also used smaller sized containers. Another reason I ordered the rolls was so I could size the length myself.The other advantage to using the containers to freeze items is that the bags don't get "greasy" from fat and oils, which makes reusing the bags impossible. The items go in frozen, and if you run water over the bag long enough to release the food you can easily reuse the bag! Just drop the frozen food into a container or bowl to thaw.I will enjoy using these bags for freezing and trying them out for sous vide cooking. I have a commercial grade food sealer and these sucked magnificently. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Vacuum Sealer Bags *by M***E on July 5, 2024* I have purchased these bags several times now. After years of use with my FoodSaver brand sealer, this is my opinion.1. These bags are very high quality. They seem thicker than brand name bags, and the rolls are longer.2. The bags work well for vacuum sealing for extended storage.3. The bags work well for Sous Vide as well as pure 'boil in the bag' methods.The only "issue" with the bags is that since the rolls are so much longer, they will not fit into the sealer cavity when new. Until the roll is small enough, I just cut the bag to size before sealing. Sometimes I'll just take a bit off the roll and re-roll it and put it in the machine. I have also re-rolled onto saved cores. It's really not an issue and the bags are great to use.Don't hesitate on these.
