He finds them comfortable and wears them daily, not just for work. Review: Runs narrow, but a great boot once broken in - As many have written, the boot runs narrow, especially around the neck of the boot. I normally wear a 10.5. My feet are a little wide but not quite wide enough to order an wide shoe size on most shoes. I ordered a 10.5 on this boot but couldn’t even get my foot passed the neck. It also felt like it would be a little short, so then ordered an 11.5 regular width. I could barely squeeze my foot in passed the neck of the boot, but once my foot was in, it was just a little too long. I then ordered a 11 Wide. It was still a struggle to get into the boot at first, but once I got my foot in, it fit just right with just enough room to wear heavy socks when it gets cold. It also breaks in well. Once I broken in, I have no problems getting my foot in. If you don’t mind dark darkening the boot a little, I recommend applying mink oil first and wearing the boot at home for a few days. Now that I have it broken in, it seems like a great boot. It seems well made and is comfortable, especially given the price. However, I have not worn it for extended periods of time on my feet yet. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tough boots *by S***M on September 9, 2014* I bought this boot because I need something to replace my last pair of boots which where destroyed because of the how much I used them. I am currently in a construction business (building trusses) that demands me to be fast and agile (the reason I didn't go with steel-toe). It did not take long to break them in. These boots, overall are outstanding for my work and everything else that demands a tough work boot. The traction is very good and I can stand up on very step angles with them and not worry about slipping. The only problem is it collects mud and stones some times. The leather is good and must be treated to last. When they came they were a little pre-oiled, I found that pretty nice until I got some oil to put on them. I don't know if that was the same for every one else who bought them. With good oil the are almost semi-waterproof. What I mean by that is if your walking in the morning and its a wet morning they will keep your feet dry and warm depending on how long your out there (roughly 1-3 hours). A good tip is to put more oil on the toe area to repel the water. The sizing is off though, I would roughly guess about a 1/2, because I bought a 8.5 M and they turned out to be 9's because my pair of lace up Wolverines that were size 9 and the inserts fit perfect in the Cat boots. So I Just put size 9 inserts in them and they fit good. the interior lining on the heel wall has started to wear and break apart from constant rubbing, but I planning to cut it out when it gets to the point of falling out or when it gets uncomfortable. The price was dead on perfect for me.
