It has always lost air in one of the 4 sections of the mattress, made me perspire, and was huge to always have to fly or travel with. The last time it deflated, I declared that it was the last time I would use it! So I got online and found this wedge, ordered two so my husband could have one also, and we took our first trip. (After trying them out twice during a nap.) We love them, and it is even more comfortable than my full-body mattress. It gives me the upper elevation I need to prevent lower back pain, and by adjusting the amount of air, it was very comfortable. And it takes far less room for traveling purposes. We have an adjustable base bed but ordered these for traveling. We did try putting them under the pillow but on top of the mattress. It was ok but they are more comfortable if but under the top mattress. They also help with my husband's snoring. We did have one that leaked a small bit after 3-4 nights. However the other one lasted the full week. Perhaps the valve wasn't quite as snug. When I tried to inflate, they made an noise somewhat like a moose only higher pitch. My husband did not seem to have that problem. I bought it to use during an extended trip earlier this year. After less than two weeks of nightly use, it started leaking air. By the middle of the night, it would be practically flat. We could not detect a hole, and figured out that the valve itself was leaking air.
